Lilies in development

Lilies was developed by the cast inspired by the 140 letters we received from former Land Girls. The cast also held meetings to meet some of these former Land Girls and hear about their experiences.

The first photo is of the company and former Land Girls at their first meeting, at the Women's Land Army Museum, Farthingloe Farm, Kent. The second was taken at the second meeting, at St Mary's Church, Finchley. The third, also taken at St Mary's, was sent to us by Jean Prior. Click on a thumbnail to see the image full size.

Here you can see the Lilies actresses poring over letters while creating their characters. They took photocopies of all the letters and photos they were sent, so that they could write notes and take cuttings to help organise their thoughts.
